Product Introduction
Magnesium Oxide Roof Decking
Magnesium Oxide Sulfate Wall Sheathing Board (abbreviated as MgSO₄ Board or Sulfur-Oxygen-Magnesium Wall Board) is a new type of chlorine-free eco-friendly building board. It is made by using light-burned magnesium oxide (MgO) and magnesium sulfate (MgSO₄) as core cementitious materials (replacing traditional magnesium chloride MgCl₂), combined with fillers such as wood fiber and perlite, reinforced with glass fiber mesh, and manufactured through a special pressing and curing process. It is specially designed for wall cladding and structural sheathing applications.
Cementitious System: High-purity active MgO, high-quality MgSO₄ Provides strength and stability, forms sulfur-oxygen-magnesium crystal network
Reinforcement: Double-sided glass fiber mesh, filament non-woven fabric Anti-cracking, improves toughness, prevents board breakage
Fillers: Wood fiber, bamboo fiber, perlite Reduces density, enhances thermal/sound insulation, improves workability
Modifiers: Polymers, special additives Optimizes hydration, boosts water resistance and aging resistance
-
Standard: Double-sided glass fiber mesh + composite core + polymer modifiers
-
Edge Designs: Square edge, shiplap edge, tongue-and-groove (T&G) edge for different installation needs

Q: What is the core difference between MgSO₄ board and traditional MgO (MgCl₂) board?
A: The key difference is the cementitious material-MgSO₄ board uses magnesium sulfate instead of magnesium chloride, completely solving the two fatal flaws of traditional MgO boards: efflorescence/moisture absorption and metal corrosion, making it more suitable for long-term use and steel structure buildings.
Q: How is its fire performance? Can it pass international certifications?
A: MgSO₄ board meets Class A1 Non-Combustible standards, non-flammable at 1200°C with no toxic smoke. It has passed international certifications such as EN 13501-1 and ASTM E119, meeting fire requirements for various buildings.
Q: Will it deform or mold in high-humidity environments?
A: No. The sulfur-oxygen-magnesium crystalline phase is extremely stable, non-absorbent and non-efflorescent. Even after 7 days of immersion, it retains over 90% strength, and is naturally mold and insect resistant-ideal for wet areas like basements and bathrooms.FAQ
Q: What advantages does MgSO₄ board have over cement board?
A: MgSO₄ board is ~50% lighter with comparable strength, easier to install; it also has better water resistance and crack resistance, and avoids post-cracking caused by alkali-aggregate reaction in cement boards, offering higher overall cost performance.
Q: Is it eco-friendly? Does it contain formaldehyde or asbestos?
A: Absolutely. MgSO₄ board is zero formaldehyde, asbestos-free, VOC-free, releasing no harmful substances, complying with EU E0 standards-an ideal choice for green buildings.
