Key Fire Safety Knowledge Points for MGO Board

Mar 12, 2026

1. Core Fire Rating

A1 non-combustible (GB 8624)

Corresponding to EN 13501-1 A1 (EU), ASTM E136 non-combustible / E84 Class A (US).

No open flame, no fire spread, no flaming droplets.

Low calorific value, safe smoke toxicity.

2. Fire Resistance Mechanism

Inorganic & non-combustible: Magnesium oxide/magnesium sulfate base material is inherently non-flammable.

Crystalline water endothermic: Releases crystal water at high temperatures to cool down and delay temperature rise.

Ceramic barrier: Forms a dense hard shell at high temperatures, blocking flame and smoke.

3. Key Performance Data

Temperature resistance: non-combustible at 800℃, no open flame at 1200℃.

Fire resistance: Partition system 1–4 hours (longer with greater thickness/more layers).

Low smoke, non-toxic, no harmful irritant gas.

4. Influencing Factors

Pure inorganic formula ensures stable performance; organic fillers (wood powder, resin) lower fire rating.

Thickness, installation structure and keel system directly affect fire resistance duration.

5. Typical Applications

Fire walls, fire-resistant ceilings, air duct cladding, elevator shafts, clean rooms, modular buildings and other high fire-safety requirement areas.
