Magnesium oxide board (MGO board) is an inorganic composite board mainly made of magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride. Its core advantages include Class A1 non-combustibility, moisture & mildew resistance, light weight with high strength, environmental friendliness & non-toxicity, easy installation, sound insulation & heat preservation, and long-term stability. It is a preferred building material for fireproof and humid environments.

1. Core Physical & Safety Properties

Superior Fire Resistance: Achieves Class A1 non-combustible rating. Resists high temperatures of 1200–1500°C, with a fire resistance limit of over 3 hours. Releases no toxic smoke under high temperatures.

Waterproof & Moisture-proof: Extremely low water absorption (≤0.5%). No deformation, efflorescence or mildew even in long-term humid/immersed conditions. Strength retention ≥95% after dry-wet & freeze-thaw cycles.

Lightweight & High Strength: Density ranges from 0.8–1.2g/cm³, over 60% lighter than traditional boards. Flexural strength: 8–15MPa; impact resistance ≥25MPa, balancing toughness and rigidity.

Dimensional Stability: Dry shrinkage ≤0.3%, wet expansion ≤0.6%. No warping or deformation during long-term service.

2. Environmental & Durability Properties

Eco-friendly & Harmless: Asbestos-free, formaldehyde-free and benzene-free. Formaldehyde emission ≤0.12mg/m³ (meets ENF ultra-low emission standard). Made of natural mineral raw materials and recyclable.

Mildew, Insect & Corrosion Resistant: Highest grade 0 mildew resistance. The inorganic material prevents termites and corrosion, ideal for high-humidity and industrial scenarios.

Long Service Life: Structural service life up to 30 years, much longer than gypsum boards, reducing maintenance costs significantly.

3. Construction & Decorative Properties

Easy Processing: Can be cut, nailed, drilled, planed, bonded and bent for shaping. Nail holding force: 25–35N/mm, compatible with various installation methods.

Excellent Surface Finishing: Smooth surface, suitable for direct painting, tile pasting, wallpaper sticking and veneer lamination with great coloring performance.

Sound & Thermal Insulation: 12mm single board provides about 32dB sound insulation; double hollow boards reach over 52dB. The porous structure offers outstanding heat insulation for energy saving.

Weather Resistance: Acid & alkali resistant, anti-aging, applicable for outdoor, industrial and humid projects.
