MGO (Magnesium Oxide) flooring underlayment and subfloor panels are inorganic, fire-resistant, and highly dimensionally stable modern flooring base materials. They are mainly made of magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate / magnesium chloride, fiberglass mesh, plant fibers, and lightweight fillers. They can meet multiple requirements such as structural load-bearing, fireproofing, moisture resistance, sound insulation, thermal insulation, and fast installation, making them a high-performance alternative to traditional plywood, OSB, and gypsum underlayment.

 

 MGO Subfloor Panels

  • Structural layer: Load-bearing structural board, directly installed on wood or steel joists to replace traditional OSB or plywood.
  • Core functions: Provide structural strength, dimensional stability, fireproofing, and moisture-proof base for finished flooring (solid wood, tile, LVT, carpet, etc.).

MGO Flooring Underlayment

  • Functional layer: Non-load-bearing leveling and enhancement layer, installed over OSB / plywood or used as a thin leveling layer.
  • Core functions: Leveling, moisture-proofing, sound insulation, fireproofing, and improving adhesion for floor finishes. Solves problems such as wet construction, long curing time, and easy cracking of traditional gypsum underlayment.

 

Main Formulations

  • MgCl₂ type: Traditional formula, high strength, low cost; suitable for dry environments.
  • MgSO₄ type: Chloride-free / low chloride, no halogen return, no steel corrosion, better water resistance; ideal for humid areas and steel structures.

 

Production Process

  • Raw material mixing → multi-layer fiberglass mesh reinforcement → pressing → curing → sanding and profiling (T&G, square edge, shiplap) → finished panels.Full dry process, no curing time required.
