Our Company
We are a company dedicated to magnesia cement products. Our main products are Magnesium Oxide Boards (MGO Board) for construction and laminated MgO boards with for furniture and renovation. Our mission is to provide the world's construction markets with environmentally friendly, high-performance and sustainable green materials.
We work with China Magnesium Materials Association (CMMA) and Magnesium Oxide Association (MOCA) in North America to raise awareness and promote the use of magnesium oxide cement products. We focus on the quality control and consistency of the MGO products. We have been actively involved in developing American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards related with MGO products.
Magnesium oxide wall board is a technologically advanced building material that offers superior performance in every category when compared to traditional wood, gypsum and cement based products.
Magnesium Oxide Wall Panels are cementitious substrate products reinforced with magnesium oxide fibre matting.
Fire resistant magnesium oxide wallboard is a new type of refractory material. It is widely used primarily as a wallboard alternative to conventional gypsum-based drywall and plywood.
It is non combustible and fire rated Class A1. With options for up to a 2 hour fire resistance, MgO Board offers an innovative passive fire protection alternative for your construction projects.
MgO board has very good fire performance. It does not spread flames or smoke. It is noncombustible and fire-rated A1, which helps protect homeowners, tenants and building occupants while mitigating damage and loss.
Magnesium oxide wall board is made of magnesium oxide, magnesium sulfate or magnesium chloride, glass fiber mesh, perlite and wood fiber.
It is an upgraded product of fireboard. A properly constructed assembly with our MgO fireproof wall board can achieve a 3-hour fireproof rating.
Fire Resistant Internal Wall Board
Our Fire Resistant Internal Wall Board is a fiberglass reinforced magnesium oxide cement board. It can be used to replace traditional gypsum drywall for wall and ceiling finishes and sheathing.
Fireproof Exterior Wall Panels
Magnesium oxide board is a new type of fire-resistant building material. The main raw materials are magnesium oxide, magnesium chloride/sulfate and perlite.
Composition Components
The formulation of lightweight MgO roofing board is scientifically proportioned to balance lightweight properties and structural stability, with the following key components:
| Component Category | Main Materials | Functions |
|---|---|---|
| Core Cementitious Material | Light-burned magnesium oxide (MgO) | Serves as the primary bonding component; reacts with water and magnesium chloride to form a stable magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) matrix, ensuring the board's strength and durability |
| Adjusting Component | Magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) solution | Acts as a curing agent; participates in the hydration reaction of MgO to form a crystalline structure, improving the board's compactness and water resistance |
| Lightweight Aggregate | Perlite, vermiculite, expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads | Reduces the board's density; lowers the overall roof load; enhances thermal insulation performance |
| Reinforcing Component | Alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh, plant fiber (e.g., wood fiber, bamboo fiber) | Improves the board's flexural strength and impact resistance; prevents cracking during curing and use |
| Functional Additives | Water-repellent agent, anti-cracking agent, mold inhibitor | Enhances water resistance and weatherability; suppresses mold and mildew growth; reduces the risk of deformation and cracking |
Key Technical Parameters
The parameters of lightweight MgO roofing board are strictly controlled to adapt to different roofing design standards. Below are the typical technical indicators for commercial products:

Application
Lightweight MgO roofing board is versatile and suitable for various roofing systems, with the following core application areas:
Prefabricated Buildings
Ideal for prefab houses, container houses, and temporary construction sites. Its lightweight feature enables quick installation, reducing transportation and labor costs; excellent fire resistance and durability ensure long-term use in harsh environments.
Industrial Workshops & Warehouses
Suitable for large-span factory roofs and logistics warehouses. It can withstand heavy snow, strong winds, and other extreme weather; non-combustible properties reduce fire risks, protecting equipment and goods inside the workshop.
Commercial & Civil Buildings
Used for the roofs of shopping malls, office buildings, and residential auxiliary buildings (e.g., garages, sunrooms). It can be combined with waterproof and thermal insulation layers to improve the building's energy efficiency and comfort.
Agricultural Facilities
Applied to the roofs of greenhouses, poultry houses, and livestock farms. It has good thermal insulation performance, which helps maintain the temperature inside the facility; mold and corrosion resistance prevent damage from humid environments and animal waste.
Special Engineering Projects
Suitable for fire-prone areas (e.g., chemical plants, oil depots) and seismic zones. A1-class fire resistance meets strict safety standards; lightweight design reduces the building's seismic load, enhancing structural stability.
Detailed Fire Resistance Introduction of Lightweight MgO Construction Roofing Board
Fire resistance is the core competitive advantage of lightweight MgO roofing board, far exceeding that of organic materials such as plywood and PVC board. The detailed fire resistance mechanism and performance are as follows:
Inherent Non-combustible Property
The core material is magnesium oxide, an inorganic non-combustible substance with a melting point as high as 2800℃. Unlike organic materials that burn, melt, and release toxic gases when exposed to fire, MgO boards do not ignite, drip, or produce harmful smoke.
Fire Retardant Mechanism of the Matrix
The magnesium oxychloride cement matrix formed by the reaction of MgO and MgCl₂ has a dense crystalline structure. When exposed to high temperatures, the crystal water in the matrix evaporates slowly, absorbing a large amount of heat and reducing the temperature of the board surface and the internal structure of the roof.
A1-Class Fire Resistance Rating
According to the national standard GB 8624-2012 and European standard EN 13501-1, lightweight MgO roofing board is classified as A1-class non-combustible material. It can withstand continuous high-temperature combustion for more than 3 hours without losing its structural integrity, effectively blocking the spread of fire.
Post-fire Performance Stability
After being exposed to fire, the board will not crack or collapse significantly. Its residual strength can still maintain the basic load-bearing capacity of the roof, providing valuable evacuation time for personnel in case of fire.
No Toxic Gas Emission
Unlike organic materials that release carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, and other toxic gases during combustion, MgO boards only produce a small amount of water vapor when heated, avoiding secondary harm caused by toxic smoke.
Comparison with Traditional Roofing Materials
To highlight the advantages of lightweight MgO roofing board, we compare it with three common traditional roofing materials:
| Material Category | Lightweight MgO Roofing Board | Cement Fiberboard | Plywood | Asbestos Board |

| Fire Resistance | A1-class, non-combustible | B1-class, flame-retardant | Combustible, easy to ignite | A1-class, non-combustible |
| Water Resistance | Good (≤15% water absorption) | Poor (easily absorbs water and cracks) | Poor (swells and deforms when wet) | Good |
| Environmental Friendliness | Eco-friendly, no formaldehyde, no asbestos | No asbestos, but high energy consumption in production | Releases formaldehyde, not recyclable | Contains asbestos, carcinogenic |
| Installation Convenience | High (lightweight, can be cut on site) | Low (heavy, requires heavy machinery) | Medium (easy to cut, but needs anti-corrosion treatment) | Low (brittle, easy to break during installation) |
| Service Life | ≥25 years | 10–15 years | 5–8 years | 15–20 years (banned in most countries) |
| Comprehensive Cost | Medium (high cost-performance ratio) | High (high transportation and installation costs) | Low (low initial cost, high maintenance cost) | Medium (banned due to environmental and health risks) |
