MGO Tile Backer (Magnesium Oxide Tile Backer Board) is an inorganic mineral board with magnesium oxide as its core material. It is specially designed to provide a high-strength, stable, moisture-proof and fireproof substrate for tile installation, making it an ideal backing material for wet and high-temperature areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and swimming pools.

Ultra-low water absorption (≤0.5%). No expansion, softening or deformation even under long-term moisture or water immersion.

Mold resistance Grade 0 (highest level).

Suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, swimming pools, basements and other wet areas.

Fireproof & Non-combustible

Class A1 non-combustible (highest fire rating). No combustion at 800°C, no open flame at 1200°C.

Installation Guidelines of MGO Tile backer

Subframe preparation: Fix to light steel or wood keels, spacing ≤400mm.

Board fixing: Use self-tapping screws, spacing 150–200mm.

Joint treatment: Leave 3–5mm expansion joints, seal with joint compound and fiberglass tape.

Waterproofing: For wet areas, apply polymer waterproof coating before tiling.

Tiling: Use tile adhesive directly for strong bonding.
