Product Introduction

MgO Panel Magnesium Oxide Board Cladding High Strength Water Resistant A1 Fire

Magnesium Oxide Board Cladding is a high-performance composite panel upgraded from traditional MgO boards by integrating functional cladding (e.g., waterproof resin coating, wear-resistant polyester film, antibacterial and flame-retardant coating). Its core raw materials remain high-purity magnesium oxide (MgO), magnesium chloride cementitious system, alkali-resistant glass fiber cloth, and environmental fillers. After high-temperature and high-pressure molding, the surface is compounded with specialized coatings to achieve four core advantages: A1-Class fire resistance + high-strength structure + full-range waterproofing + value-added coating functions.

Advantages of  MgO Panel Magnesium Oxide Board Cladding High Strength Water Resistant A1 Fire

1. Ultimate Fire Resistance: A1-Class Non-Combustible with Stable Structure at High Temperatures

  • Fire Rating: Complies with GB 8624-2012 and EN 13501-1 (CE Certification) A1-Class standards; non-combustible, non-flame-supporting, and no flame spread.

  • High-Temperature Tolerance: Withstands 800-1000℃ high-temperature combustion for 2-3 hours. The main board structure does not collapse or shed, only slight carbonization of the surface coating occurs, effectively blocking fire spread and gaining critical time for personnel evacuation and equipment protection.

  • Non-Toxic & Smoke-Free: Only releases a small amount of water vapor when exposed to fire; no toxic gases such as formaldehyde, benzene, or halogens, and no corrosive smoke. Meets international fire safety and environmental standards (ASTM E84 Class A Certification).

2. Super High Structural Strength: Excellent Load-Bearing & Impact Resistance

  • Core Strength: Flexural strength ≥15MPa (ordinary MgO boards: 12-18MPa; traditional gypsum boards: 4-6MPa), compressive strength ≥35MPa. Can directly bear heavy equipment mounting (single-point load capacity ≤50kg) and frequent impacts (e.g., forklift collisions in industrial workshops) without cracking.

  • Deformation Resistance: Low thermal expansion coefficient (7×10⁻⁶/℃), minimally affected by temperature and humidity changes. No warping or bulging; maintains flatness even for large-area installations (single sheet ≥30㎡).

  • Reinforcement Process: Internal double-layer alkali-resistant glass fiber cloth interweaves with magnesium oxide cement to form a dense structure, avoiding edge chipping, delamination, and cracking during processing.

3. Full-Range Waterproofing: Near-Zero Water Absorption for Humid Environments

  • Waterproof Performance: The surface coating uses specialized waterproof resin (e.g., polyurethane, epoxy resin) or waterproof film. The overall water absorption rate of the board ≤0.5% (ordinary MgO boards: ≤1%; gypsum boards: ≥20%). No swelling, deformation, or mildew after 24-hour immersion.

  • Moisture & Mold Resistance: The coating seals board pores, inhibiting mold and bacteria growth (mold resistance grade 0). Maintains stable performance even in long-term humid environments such as bathrooms, basements, and coastal high-humidity areas.

  • Corrosion Resistance: Synergistic effect between the coating and MgO substrate provides acid-base and salt spray resistance, suitable for corrosive environments such as chemical plants, coastal buildings, and sewage treatment plants.

4. Value-Added Coating Functions: Dual Improvement of Decorativeness & Durability

Based on different coating types, multiple value-added functions are available to meet differentiated needs:

No waste water or gas emissions during production; energy consumption is only 40% of concrete. The board + coating is 100% recyclable, complying with LEED and Green Building Three-Star Evaluation Standards.

Installation Process & Precautions

1. Installation Preparation

Tool List: Tape measure, chalk line, electric saw (carbide blade), utility knife, electric drill, level, safety gear;

Auxiliary Material Preparation: 316 stainless steel self-tapping screws (corrosion-resistant), specialized waterproof sealant, glass fiber mesh tape, putty (only for non-decorative coatings);

Substrate Treatment: Light steel keel spacing ≤400mm, surface flat, dry, and oil-free. Keels in humid environments must be hot-dip galvanized.

2. Key Installation Steps

Cutting & Coating Protection: Avoid damaging the surface coating during cutting. For thin boards, score the coating side with a utility knife; for electric saw cutting, place the coating face down to minimize scratches.

Board Fixation: Install vertically. Screw spacing: 200-250mm (board edges), 300-350mm (board center). Screws must be ≥15mm from board edges (to prevent coating detachment), with heads slightly recessed ≤0.5mm.

Joint Treatment: Reserve 3-5mm gaps between boards, filled with specialized waterproof sealant (for humid environments). Decorative coated boards can use color-matched sealant directly, no additional putty needed.

3. Core Precautions

Coating Protection: Avoid collisions with sharp objects during installation to prevent scratches or damage to the coating.

Fastener Selection: Must use 316 stainless steel screws; never use ordinary iron nails (prone to rust and coating bulging).

Humid Environment Treatment: For bathrooms, basements, etc., apply waterproof glue to the contact surface between keels and boards to enhance sealing.

Cutting Dust: Wear a mask during cutting and ensure ventilation to avoid inhaling magnesium oxide dust.

FAQ

Q: Can MgSO₄ boards be directly used in exposed exterior wall environments?

A: Surface protection treatment (e.g., spraying fluorocarbon paint or waterproof mortar) is required, or they can be used as the middle layer of a composite exterior wall system (e.g., combined with insulation layers and finishing layers).

Q: Are the boards easy to cut and process?

A: They can be cut with ordinary electric saws or hand saws, resulting in smooth edges without the need for special tools. Drilling, grooving, and other operations are similar to those for gypsum boards.

Q: Can they be used in combination with other materials?

A: They can be compounded with thermal insulation materials such as rock wool and polystyrene boards to make sandwich panels, or bonded with ceramic tiles and metal plates to form an integrated exterior wall system.

Q: How to judge the quality of the boards?

A: Check the product test report, focusing on indicators such as chloride ion content (≤0.012%), water absorption rate (≤10%), and flexural strength (≥15MPa for 12mm thick boards). Choose products from regular manufacturers certified by ISO 9001.
