Product Introduction

Building Materials MGO High Strength Low Density Fireproof Magnesium Oxide Board

MGO board, or magnesium oxide board, is a new kind of non-flammable composite board. It's made with three main things: high-purity active magnesium oxide, either magnesium chloride or magnesium sulfate, and water. We add some special additives to improve it, reinforce it with alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh, and fill it with light materials like perlite, then make it through special processes.

It has the light weight and flexibility of wood-based boards, plus the fire and water resistance of inorganic boards. It's a great eco-friendly building material that's perfect for replacing the old gypsum boards and plywood.

Advantages of Building Materials MGO High Strength Low Density Fireproof Magnesium Oxide Board

1 Lightweight But Super Strong (Our Best Advantage)

It's really light, way lighter than traditional building materials, so it reduces the building's load a lot.But it's also super strong-stronger than other similar lightweight panels. It's got great strength for its weight, much better than gypsum boards and cement boards, so it's light but tough.

2 Great Fire ResistanceIt's non-combustible (Grade A1)-

it won't burn or help fires spread, acting as a safety barrier. It stays structurally intact even at high temperatures, slowing down fire spread and giving more time to evacuate.Perfect for high-rises, hospitals, malls, and important places like machine rooms and power distribution rooms.

3 Excellent Water & Moisture Resistance

It doesn't absorb much water and handles moisture really well, great for damp spots like basements, bathrooms, and kitchens. It won't deform or swell even if soaked for a long time, and stays stable through wet and dry cycles. It also doesn't have the efflorescence problem that old magnesium panels usually have.

4 Eco-Friendly & Healthy

No harmful stuff like asbestos, formaldehyde, or benzene-totally non-toxic.It uses less energy to make than cement, cutting down on carbon emissions. It absorbs CO₂ while curing, helping with carbon neutrality, and it's 100% recyclable, which fits circular economy ideas.

5 Other Advantages

Weather Resistant: It resists acid, alkali, insects, and termites. It lasts 25-50 years, so you save on maintenance costs.Easy to Process: You can saw it, nail it, and glue it easily-speeds up construction and saves a lot of working time.

6 Good Nail Holding Power:

Better than gypsum boards, so decoration surfaces stay firm and safe.Smooth Surface: You can paint it, tile it, or paste things on it directly-no need to level it first.Mold Resistant: It's an inorganic material, so it doesn't grow mold. Perfect for hospitals, food workshops, and other places that need high hygiene standards.

 Component Composition

Magnesium Oxide (MgO): 56-58% Provides core strength and fire resistance. With a melting point of up to 2852°C, it ensures the board resists high temperatures without deformation.
Magnesium Chloride (MgCl₂) or Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO₄): 27-29% Acts as a cementitious material, reacting with magnesium oxide to form a stable magnesium-based cementitious structure that bonds all components together.
Alkali-Resistant Fiberglass Mesh: 4-6% Enhances the board's flexural and tensile strength, prevents cracking, and improves toughness.
Perlite/Vermiculite: 3-4% Reduces weight, improves thermal and sound insulation performance, and lowers thermal conductivity.
Plant Fiber/Wood Chips: 5-6% Increases flexibility and impact resistance, and improves processability.
Other Additives: 1-5% Improves water resistance and durability, and adjusts curing time.

Scientific Analysis of Lightweight & High-Strength Performance

Core Mechanisms for MGO Board's Lightweight & High-Strength Properties:

Microstructural Advantages

The crystalline phase structure of 5Mg(OH)₂·MgCl₂·8H₂O formed by magnesium oxide and magnesium chloride/magnesium sulfate has excellent mechanical properties and stability.

The fiberglass mesh forms a three-dimensional reinforced network in the board, just like steel bars in concrete, significantly improving flexural and crack resistance.

Lightweight fillers such as perlite are evenly distributed, reducing weight without compromising overall strength.

Scientific Material Ratio

Precisely controlling the ratio of MgO/MgCl₂ (MgSO₄)/H₂O forms the most stable cementitious system, maximizing strength.

The reinforcing fibers are perfectly combined with the matrix, ensuring uniform stress distribution and avoiding cracking caused by stress concentration.

Process Assurance

Special molding process ensures dense and uniform internal structure of the board, reducing internal defects.

Precise curing control ensures full crystal development, forming a stable and high-strength structure.

Practical Application Value:

Reduces wall weight in high-rise buildings, lowers foundation load requirements, and saves structural costs.

Reduces supporting points for large-span ceilings, simplifies construction, and improves space utilization.

Easy to handle by a single person during transportation and installation, saving labor costs and improving construction efficiency.

FAQ

Q: What are the core advantages of this MGO board compared with conventional building panels?

A: It features three standout benefits: first, lightweight yet high-strength (density 0.8-1.2g/cm³, flexural strength 18-30MPa), reducing building load by 60%; second, top-tier fire resistance (A1 non-combustible grade, 1200°C no flame, 1.5-3h fire resistance limit); third, excellent water & moisture resistance (<15% water absorption, no deformation after 30-day immersion, anti-efflorescence). Besides, it is eco-friendly and easy to process.

Q: What is the fire rating of this MGO board, and is it suitable for high-rise buildings or crowded places?

A:The board reaches Grade A1 (the highest non-combustible standard globally), producing zero toxic smoke in case of fire. When combined with high-quality keels, its fire resistance limit can reach 3 hours. It is fully suitable for high-rise buildings, hospitals, shopping malls, power distribution rooms and other places with strict fire safety requirements.

Q: What application scenarios is this MGO board suitable for?

A:It has a wide range of applications in construction and industrial fields, including interior partition walls, fire walls, ceiling systems, floor substrates, fire door cores and fireproof air ducts. It is also ideal for special environments such as basements, ship interiors, vehicle decorations and ancient building restoration projects.

Q: Is this MGO board easy to process and install? Will it increase construction costs?

A: Relatively speaking, it is quite convenient. They can be fixed and installed by means of nailing, gluing and other methods like common panels. They can also be flexibly cut and spliced according to design requirements to adapt to different spatial layout needs.

Q: How does this MGO board perform against gypsum boards, cement boards and plywood?

A: Compared with gypsum boards, it has better fire and moisture resistance, and its service life is 2-3 times longer. Compared with cement boards, it is 50% lighter, easier to install, and has higher specific strength. Compared with plywood, it is non-combustible, formaldehyde-free and anti-mildew, making it more suitable for indoor environments with high environmental requirements.

Q: Is this MGO board eco-friendly? What is its service life?

A: It is a 100% green building material, free of asbestos, formaldehyde, benzene and other harmful substances. It absorbs CO₂ during curing and can be fully recycled. Thanks to its excellent weather resistance and corrosion resistance, its service life can reach 25-50 years, far exceeding traditional panels such as gypsum boards (10-15 years).

Q: What is the fire resistance rating of fireproof wall board?

A: Under normal use and with proper maintenance, the service life can be quite long, ranging from several decades. However, if they are in a harsh environment (such as being frequently affected by moisture, being subjected to strong acid and alkali corrosion, etc.), the service life may be shortened accordingly.

Q: What is the price situation of these wall panels?

A: The price is affected by multiple factors, including the specifications, thickness, quality of the panels and the market supply and demand situation. Generally speaking, compared with some common partition wall materials, the price may be slightly higher. However, considering its performance advantages, the cost performance is still quite considerable.
